The griffins are moulded fiber of some sort the wood is poplar. Frames re-glued and stripped. The decoration above the Griffin was reproduced using polyester autobody filler, used it to make the mould as well as the repro.
This piece had water sit on the top , much loose veneer. Also some previous repairs done using epoxy had come loose. These pictures are during and after I made these inlay strips to replace missing and rotted sections.
